Why is the band called the Shannon Rovers?

Answer: The original 12 founding members of the band were all born near the River Shannon, in Ireland.

Answer: The Shannon Rovers have about 60 full-time members, as well as many students and "semi"-retired members.

Answer: Since 1965, the Shannon Rovers have proudly worn the Kennedy tartan, in honor of President John F. Kennedy
